    When we turned our backs on nuclear power and embraced coal.  If we'd prevented the last 40 years of coal burning, and had co-located industries to take advantage of waste heat, then maybe we'd be in a position today to talk prevention.

    But that never happened because the public was scared shitless over radiation, and engineering R&D spends were diverted as a bad investment. We could have had better nuclear plants, instead we burned coal.

    Wind and solar will be part of the adaptation, but yep, time to start turning the coastlines into wildlife refuges.
