      If it starts affecting your health or metabolism.  You said something about a "rational-irrational" situation and also that you're having a "big adrenaline push."

      These then show you it's time to just walk away and remove your attention from whatever it is that is causing these thoughts and physiological responses.

      If you are in no danger, then time to let it go and move on otherwise your sleep will start to be affected and your physiology will continue to be affected in unhealthy ways.

      Done and done!...

      Ignorance is bliss only for the ignorant. The rest of us must suffer the consequences.

        In my experience, I take some processing time, and let "it" go in chunks. This is the last chunk now in the whole thing, an unexpected one! But the last one. And I actually think it will be easier to let this one go than most of the rest, because it is so "final."

        The quilting this morning helped already, focusing on something else that gives me pleasure. And after lunch I'll go back down and do some more.

        As to rational/irrational, I am rational. :)
