  •  Tom, you mention the guy in LA shooting (0+ / 0-)

two people, yet you don't mention the LAPD shooting at and hitting two innocent women - why is that?

Do you think that it's not "gun crazy" if cops try to murder innocent people, or what?

    •  Women shot by LAPD subject many diaries, (5+ / 0-)

Back again to ask Tom the same question, as you did repeatedly last night. Why is it that you seem to care only about these two women, who survived, then about all those many Tom describe,  who did not? Why do you seem to care only more about one story omitted, then the many he has worked to collect from sources of all sorts all over the country?

Well the answer is, as it was yesterday, that the women's story is well known, while the stories Tom tells are not.

So, for those of return every night to rec and thank Tom, may we ask that you leave him to this sad work in peace.

for the diarest to participate in the comment section of the diaries they post - you know, like back up their claims, support their positions, etc. Unfortunately it's becoming obvious that this diarist is nothing but an "post & run" member of this community.

I had an question the other day for the diarist that was not replied to, so I gave him/her the benefit of the doubt and thought I'd ask it again - thought they might have been busy or something.

Thanks for your "reasoning", or whatever, but I'm still waiting for a response from the diarist, which you cannot address or answer.

Not the first time you've done this, is it?

          Have a donut.

Please explain to me what exactly is "dickish" in my explanation to someone who questioned me as to why I asked the diarist the same question two times due to their non-participation in their diary.

You should remove your donut as it's definitely not deserved or warranted. But if not, I'll wear it proudly :-)

          •  Thanx for the much appreciated support (2+ / 0-)

As I was perplexed by the scorn and middle schoolish 'whatever' I received for what I thought was a civil request to leave in peace the diarist who is doing such sad work alone.

Reasoned I believe it was, and courteous I tried to be.

            so support appreciated.

My understanding is that both Markos, Meteor Blades and many others of varying reputations on this site have supported this Diarist in his efforts.

There is not now, and never has been any requirement that Diarists participate in comment threads. Indeed, take a look at the Front Page Diaries ... the writers rarely participate.

I'm sure Tom is pleased that you doubted him, then were generous to his motives, but it's meaningless.

Personally I think Diaries usually benefit from participation in comments, but it is entirely a matter for the author.

I hope that the quality of debate will improve,
but I fear we will remain Democrats.

It is, in fact, considered common courtesy for the diarist to participate in comments -- but it is not required that a diarist do so.

Pointing this out, and stating that one does not, personally, appreciate what may be perceived as a "hit and run" diary is in no way violation of site rules.

Applying the "don't be a dick" law is quite a stretch -- this user shared his opinion, and was in no way discourteous in doing so.

Yes, I often dress as a pirate. Your point?
