  •  The Inuit have over 2 dozen words for snow (14+ / 0-)

Each identifiable difference and importance is embedded in those words. We have one word we use for many human reactions and interactions.

I love my spouse because he is somone who draws me out of myself by being a being who I can empathize with and share all  of me with even to the unromantic and the actually disgusting...it doesn't matter to either of us. We love the OTHER in a way I can only touch on with other people. But that kind of love makes it easier to see the OTHER. When I am suddenly laid  out by empathy I truly love that person or animal.

People who see others as only objects to be used will claim they love them but it is the love of a consumer towards the tastier bits. Like loving a car or a TV show.

We have been married 29+ years ... miraculously and totally happy to the point people smile at the 2 old foggies teasing and playing word games with each other. I think we can share generously with others because we are not hungry for knowing and being knowed.

    Lovely diary
