    I've lived in or near Syracuse much of my life, and it regularly dips below zero in winter, but I think we should factor in the wind chill, which can make it "feel like" several, 10, or even 15 degrees colder.

    But at least we're south of Tug Hill, a plateau just East of Lake Ontario, where it can often drop to 30 or more below zero without wind chill, and makes me shiver just to think about!

    I think the coldest actual temp I've experienced is 25 below. Don't care to go anywhere colder than that.
