employers pass over people for jobs for being fat all the time.

and the voters may choose to do so also.

as for the jokes, ridicule is one of the few ways to fight back against a bully, and that's what Christie is.  a thin skinned bully who can dish it out but can't take it.

maybe part of it is visual discrimination, but there are some jobs that require stamina and president is one of them.

just as important as being physically fit is being able to deal with the psychological stress of being scrutinized and criticized all the time without snapping back at people.  in my opinion Christie does not have the right temperament to be President, and that means more to me than his weight, but his weight is a factor.

I could not wake up tomorrow and no one would be surprised.  I'd be paying the price for carrying all this extra weight around for so long.  But the stability of the free world, international financial markets, and soldiers in harm's way would not be affected by it.

Chris Christie, whether he likes to hear it or not, is playing long odds.  He's been rolling the dice successfully for a long time and is betting that they will never grow cold.  that's not a bet I want to take as a voter.  the odds are against him,  anecdotal evidence of people's relatives who lived to a ripe old age while being 100 pounds overweight are irrelevant.  those people were not living the very stressful life a President of the United States has to live.

Christie's health will be fine until the moment it isn't.  He will have to pick a VP who is younger and healthier to quell the health concerns of the voters.  And he will have to pick a VP who is more conservative, to make up for saying nice things about Obama in 2012.

I do not want Chris Christie to be president.  If ridicule is one of the ways to stop him, Dems can't bring a knife to a gun fight.

If the shoe were on the other foot, Republicons would not hesitate.  Hell, they tried to make fun of Obama for being too skinny!

a bully in office or one who can not take criticism that he blows his top.  This is being discussed repeatedly about him and is a turnoff to women.

      •  exactly, ice (0+ / 0-)

being a bully with anger management problems is much more important to me as a voter.

i'm more concerned about that than about his weight
