      Think about this instead: a new handgun costs around $200.  A .38 cal bullet can be had for about 50 cents apiece (when bought in bulk).

      So that means every person shot - over 100,000 in America every year - means over 100,000 guns and bullets sold (at least!).  That's $20 million in gun sales and $50,000 in ammo sales right there!  Figure 50% markup and we are talking about over $10 million in profit for the gun industry every year!!!  And that's just the people that got injuried; millions buy guns and ammo without getting injuried.

      Right now, the NRA is trying to figure out how to get more people shot every year, not less.
