  •  I too have a name for it... (0+ / 0-)

...the 9/11 effect, as in: after 9/11, fear and emotionality were used to trump logic and facts in an attempt (largely successful) to assault our civil rights.  The difference: back then it was mainly the right (now mainly the left), and it was the 4th amendment under fire (now the 2nd).

      and I'm sick of it.

Nobody, I repeat - NOBODY - is advocating seriously eliminating all guns.  Or civilian ownership of all types of weapons.

But you knew that, didn't you?  So your precious 2nd amendment will be just fine, won't it?

...you didn't even address the basic premise of my post, nor did you make any factual statements whatsoever.  I will but merely note that this is typical for those who wish to veil their attempt to eviscerate our civil rights.

As for 'straw-man b.s.' perhaps you are acquainted with a little state called California, where your fellow gun-banners have proposed confiscation of previously registered self-defense rifles, as well as other lawfully purchased long guns?   By any objective measure the term 'strawman b.s.' covers this diary far more than my post in reaction thereto.

But by all means, avoid dealing with the serious issue I raise by attempting to belittle me instead of taking recourse to facts or logic; I am sure that amongst the narrow-minded that passes for informed debate.
