I misread your intentions, that can happen. I apologize for that. We have been baited in the past by people who claim to want to know something and really don't care for an honest answer.

The way I look at the confiscation issue is as part of a larger view of the new powers of our government. I don't think that anyone in government is actively pushing grabbing guns, but that won't necessarily hold true in future administrations. We can't judge what will happen from the present, but can take clues.

I live right around the mountain from this. It is inconceivable to me the level of access the gov. has into our lives. Personally I think that no registration only serves to give people what I am afraid is a false sense of security. But, I understand why people who do own guns don't want to wake up one day and find that if they don't turn them in they are criminals.

What happened in CA was essentially what KVoi said, they told owners that one type of gun was legal, they were registered and then they were told that they were criminals if they didn't turn them in. It's cock-ups like that one that cause people to not trust.

I've spent a lot of time turning R votes into Ds here in my really red state and one of the biggest hurdles was the Dems association with gun control. I used to be big on it myself. Try an experiment and read comments by people who are against RKBA as if you were a member. It will be eye opening in the condescension and insults. Trust me.

If people can hate others because they just own a gun with that much venom then of course they don't trust them to leave them be.
