that is why everything changed after the postal shootings.

They looked beyond the crime at the underlying message and then they changed from a paramilitary workplace to one where people were trusted to do their job.

That is where I learned to always look behind the issue. Because if we don't nothing will ever change.

As you can see by the all of the diaries and comments people no longer trust the police. They have shot their own credibility by to often protecting and promoting people who exibit violent tendencies.

People die every year because of this practice, who speaks for them.

    •  I don't recall anyone saying... (0+ / 0-)

...back in those pre-blogging days that the people who killed their fellow postal workers needed to be listened to and perhaps celebrated as lumpen insurrectionaries, which is the gibberish we're hearing now.

It's little surprise that the mainstream media would never report those as anything but random crazy people shooting up their work.  And once we have a medium we can discuss these things in we get the PC police dropping in and saying we can't ever say anything about this except that it was murder.  What a joke.

investigated the events leading up to the postal shootings.

They looked at the culture that had been created and they revised their way of doing things so drastically it reminded me of invasion of the body snatchers.

The police don't ever seem to want or be able to do this. As I have stated several hundred times a good friend of mine was killed by her husband in front of their children in a grocery store parking lot. He was the police chief of Tacoma, WA. He had been promoted over and over in spite of his record of unnessary force. People who reported him had been let go or saw their careers stagnate.

When people get away with abuse they begin to think they are above the law. When they kill someone and are cleared of wrong doing the credibility of the whole profession suffers. It puts the good cops who probably out number the bad at risk of just the sort of thing that is happening now.
