The Sun and The Times (plus the Sunday versions of each now the News of the Screws has been shut down) are owned by News International, a subsidiary of News Corp.

The Daily Express and Daily Star plus their Sunday editions and the TV network Five are owned by Northern and Shell Media, itself owned by Richard "Dirty" Desmond - so called because he made his fortune by publishing soft porn (including the Daily Star!!)

Meanwhile Murdoch has blundered by revealingthe extent of his control of News International titles:

Campaigners have vowed to fight until “the topless pictures are gone” after Rupert Murdoch hinted he was considering covering up The Sun’s Page 3. Yet those who have worked at News International believe protesters should not pop the champagne corks yet.

The boss of News Corporation – the parent company of NI – was responding to a tweet suggesting the page, which has run a topless woman for 42 years, was “so last century”.

The Australian tycoon said: “Page 3 so last century! You may be right, don’t know, but considering. Perhaps half-way house with glamorous fashionistas.” This was an unexpected public admission from Murdoch that he has doubts about the long-running Sun feature, which last year prompted a series of new protests.

So, you might ask, just how distinct is the management of News International print titles and Sky, the News Corp owned satellite service provider. "Fit and proper person"???

"Who stood against President Obama in 2012?" - The trivia question nobody can answer.
