    This is money that would be spent and help create or sustain jobs.  This could result in increased government expenditures (eg unemployment compensation) and reduced tax revenues that would at least partially offset the savings.

      Lowering social insurance benefits to far below subsistence level creates a nation that looks more like our "competition" that is India or China.
      This will happen when federal outlays to the non-productive population decreases while inflation creates a false economic stimulus reaping a windfall for the 1% as they cycle back to where labor is cheapest.
      Demand will be up in the other nations where temporarily created middle classes fall back to generational destitution creating another generation of desperate cheap labor.  
      The problem with this generational harvesting of productivity is that it is grotesquely unsustainable for the planet and degenerates human culture and health.
