    where you quit scaring the shit out of people just to get ahead.

    Really, I think that's what pisses me off the most. So many people barely get by on SS now. Some of us see it at the end of the tunnel (like me, I'm in my early fifties). Not only is the tunnel's end getting longer--but thanks to this shit economy, I'm laid off again. At my age, it's frightening as hell.

    I cashed in my 401-k long ago. I have no pension. I have no retirement. SS is all I have to look forward to in my old age. And by the time they're done "balancing their approach", there won't be anything left of that, either.

    It is time to #Occupy Media.

    •  Me too. My 401K was wiped out in the two (3+ / 0-)

      crashes of '98 and 2007.
      I only have SS and I saved half of what I earned.  I educated myself, played by the rules, got a good job and was discarded before retirement age.
      Even as I have attempted retraining, my health has deteriorated.  Who would hire me?
