Wilmington, Del. -- A man in his 50s or 60s walked into the public lobby of a courthouse about 8 a.m. today and opened fire killing his son's former wife, who was entering a court meeting to seek child support from her ex-husband and the friend  who had accompanied her to the court hearing.

The husband, who had just been released from federal prison for kidnapping the children and taking them to Central America as well as for bank fraud, was in the Courtroom was taken into custody.

He also wounded two police officers. The two officers'  wounds were considered non life-threatening because the direct shots to the chest were stopped by their bullet-proof vests.

The man died from a gunshot wound, but authorities were not yet sure if it was from police fire or self-inflicted.
