    those under 40 [which is not your majority audience here].  i'm still bothered that the internet has invalidated the concept of a paragraph -- never an indent now, and too many single sentence paragraphs.

      from 'old-school' paragraphs with an introductory sentence, some evidence, and a conclusion (not to mention that pesky Oxford comma, or punctuation placement outside of parentheses...), I found it nearly impossible to "write for the web" where two or at most three sentences could be a paragraph but one was actually preferred. Yikes.
           And I learned the hard way as a secretary in the 1990s that my boss preferred a new-style business letter with no indentation and the coming web-style of an extra line between all paragraphs.
