    You do realize, of course, that's a very different thing from saying if the deficit hawks weren't out there with their knives.

    I'm not aware of anybody even proposing actions that would have the economy near its full potential any time soon.

    And -- there is this other little problem:

    This is the wrong time to be a deficit hawk.
    Absolutely wrong, but...
    It's also a lousy time to spend badly.
    Money thrown away is money that could be making the economy turn and getting people back to work building futures for themselves, their families, and their country.

    I don't know where it happens, but the tap runs dry at some point. Best to have things rolling and people working before that time comes.

      Way too many assumptions there that "best" refers to the interests of humanity, reason, the American people, America as a nation, anything related to the Constitution....

        People being able to work and take care of their families seems like a good thing for humanity, reason, the American people, and the nation.

        You may disagree, of course, but why?
