    on raising the minimum wage-where will this really end up?

    Disconcerting. Look what is happening with the 'fiscal curb' HCR, etc..These republicans do not negotiate in good faith.

    Letting the states set the minimum would be disastrous. Consider how states like Mississippi, Texas, Florida etc..would 'handle' this is a bad idea. Living in Wi. has made me cynical.

      minimum wage.  What OkieLawyer is describing is already the state of affairs - the federal minimum wage only provides the floor.  States are free to make the minimum wage HIGHER, just not lower.

        if the legislatures and Gov. are properly greased  motivated.

        Lately, my view of the venal nature of the majority of the elected officials in this state (Wi.) doesn't give me much in the way of confidence.
