  •  Have the gallbladder removed! (10+ / 0-)

Last month, my daughter in law "passed" every test for a gallbladder that ultimately had to be removed.  All the scans said it was alright, but it wasn't.  She's doing fine without it.

She needs to have bloodwork that looks at the enzymes produced by the gall bladder, and the liver.  They reveal more than any ultrasounds or CT scans.

Good wishes to both of you.

If you want to know the real answer: Just ask a Mom.

    •  This is still my hope (7+ / 0-)

Bloodwork has been indeterminate. Gallbladder problems are still a possibility, but so are unrelated duct blockages, and a handful of Very Bad scenarios involving liver failure.

We should hear more back today or tomorrow. I wish they'd just pull it, since it's nonessential, and could legitimately be the problem, but they're trying to minimize invasive procedures for now. This is why I'm not a doctor, I suppose.
