  •  It's the general public that must renounce frackin (7+ / 0-)

We have not done the work to organize and mobilize against dirty energy. The other side talks jobs and energy independence and we are left wondering why the rest of the public doesn't demand change like we do.

I'll leave it to Coloradans to decide if a primary is in order. I just hope if there is a primary, it doesn't lead to a Republican assuming the office.

I think activist on the Left have to learn to deliver votes and not just take them away. The fate of the planet demands that we find a way to bring the masses along with us. We must build trust that what we are proposing will not cost millions of jobs and/or unnecessarily restrict quality of life (while recognizing doing nothing will end life as we know it).

Right now, people only seem to respond to the idea that there are vast(so says the industry) sources of energy right here in the country ripe for development. It is also a source of money for politicians. We need to have a cohesive strategy for fully addressing the energy needs for people and industry.

Colorado is now a solid blue state.
      Longmont, is a slightly
      Republican leaning area.
It voted by over 50 percent to ban fracking.

      •  CO is nowhere near a 'solid blue state' (0+ / 0-)

It was even the tipping point state in Obama's reelection; its very much a swing state.
Anyway, it takes a lot to primary a sitting governor, and Hickenlooper is popular, making it even less likely.
        Pick a better target.

    •  THANK YOU!!!! You can't always write rant and (0+ / 0-)

rave against Democrats on issues like these when the people who are on the right sides of the issues can't effectively communicate the message to the people and build momentum.
