    Just throwing this out.

Reid, Obama and Pelosi know they're not going to get anything done with the cloud coo coo caucus controlling the majority party in the House of Reps. They also know that, given the gerrymander, it's a long shot right now to take The House back.

So they want the Republicans, who are all scared of their right flank, to make assholes of themselves for the next two years in every way possible to further damage their brand. We need to outperform the popular vote by what? to beat the gerrymander and the current R caucus won't play unless they run the show so they have to be crushed or else it's all holding actions until 2016 or further.

If Reid had gotten rid of the filibuster there'd still be the do-nothing House to get past with any program of real importance so nothing would happen on that front anyway. Then, if the Republicans retake the Senate, it gets even slightly uglier for the last two years of Obama's term and they run in 2016 on "Dems can't do anything. NO MORE BLACK GUYS!!!"

This way if we retake the House, unlikely but the only real win possible, Reid gets rid of the filibuster then. If they take the Senate we all know they'll get rid of the filibuster but then it'll be them who done it and they're not getting the votes to override Presidential vetos no matter how bad 2014 goes.

Just a theory. Here's hoping that the entire Democratic Party from the corporate/DLC/Clinton/Obama wing to the New Deal 2.0/labor/youth/librul wing is learning the lesson of 2010 and the whole Reagan revolution. It's a long game that has to be won from the ground up.

If you didn't like the news today, go out and make some of your own.
