when it ends up with the same result.  And centrist Democrats are leading us down the road to ruin in so many ways.  They're functionally just as bad as the GOP on global warming, and it's game over if they're in charge for the next ten years.  On the other hand, if we can push for a lot of progressives in the primaries we can run the general.  At this point I wouldn't be surprised if Barbara Lee had a decent chance against the next GOP nom for president.

suggests that, limiting consideration to issues that matter, the worst Democrats are 2x better than the best Republicans, and the 2 sigma bad Democrats are 10x better than the 2 sigma good Democrats.

I will take our 2 sigma bad over their 2 sigma good in a heartbeat, because moderate democrats absolutely, completely, totally, provably don't wind up in the same place as Republicans do. Not on global warming, not on regulating banks, not taxes, nothing.

You can, occasionally, find a Democrat who on a topic is as bad as a Republican. You will not find a Democrat who on all topics is as bad as a Republican.

Economics is a social *science*. Can we base future economic decisions on math?

I was talking specifically about climate change.  Yes, the Dems have supported token policy changes that won't fix the problem, and their "big fixes" are not fixes.  Not as bad in this case just isn't enough.  The perfect isn't the only enemy of the good, and the Dems are no where near good when you've got the president spending almost as much time talking about increasing fossil fuel production as about climate change.

Former DC Mayor Marion Barry and Current Ward 8 DC City Councilman.

I'd honestly rather have 4 years of Allen West in the position knowing that a better Democrat is likely to win it after West's term. (Note, the DC Council is currently 11 Democrats and 2 independents, so it isn't like West will get anything passed)
