  •  Holy shit (4+ / 0-)

You mean that it's possible to cross state lines and purchase weapons that aren't legal in your own state?

Next, you're probably going to tell us that Sandy Hook happened because of CT's gun regulations and that if there had been an adult with a gun at Sandy Hook they would have been able to stop Adam Lanza, right?

    •  Laws give society recourse (8+ / 0-)

laws don't protect - the best one can hope for is they deter - but if laws were the answer - there would be no need for police becasue we would all just "follow the law"....right?

The care of human life and happiness, and not their destruction, is the first and only legitimate object of good government. - Thomas Jefferson

      •  So you can buy high explosives for any reason? (0+ / 0-)

No, laws do protect by making certain things unavailable.   You cannot get a large shipment of the fertilizer that Timothy McVeigh used without a lot of controls, and you cannot buy large amounts of the ingredients for Meth.   This is all intended to proactively protect society.

    •  No I wouldn't say that (which you (0+ / 0-)

probably know) I was definitely struck by the irony of someone from CT talking about CT's "tough" gun laws barely 2 months after the Sandy Hook massacre in CT.
