  •  Bizarre. The House won't pass climate legislation. (18+ / 0-)

The House is Republican because of extreme gerrymandering. That happened because Democratic candidates didn't get the money and organization at the state level to win elections to state legislatures. In North Carolina Art Pope and the Koch brothers poured large amounts of money into advertising and organizing to take over the state government.

    Blaming Democrats doesn't help.

The filibuster is irrelevant to the problems in the House.

This effort by Bernie Sanders and Sen. Boxer is the beginning of an effort that will have to continue for 2 more years to be successful. We need to obliterate the Republican party for its destructive obstructionist actions.

look for my eSci diary series Thursday evening.

    •  Either will the senate when the Dems (0+ / 0-)

keep allowing the GOP to now demand 60 votes on everything.  That's the problem.  It's all grandstanding otherwise.

The House is gerrymandered to hell, we're not getting that for at least 10 years.

Blaming Democrats does help when they're operating in cahoots with Republicans.  If Reid didn't have the filibuster reform votes - why not hold a public vote on it?  Because he doesn't want to put pressure on these sell-out Dems and expose them for what they are?  Or is Reid one of them?

Well if Reid is unwilling to - why not the Independent member of the caucus leave the party because of their lack of desire to do anything and name who is standing in the way of real progress on climate?

Instead he'll blame the President for ultimately not blocking the KXL, when there is a lot more he personally could do but simply doesn't in order to be part of the club.

He should take the pressure he puts on the President and put it on his own caucus members just as publicly.

Keystone XL Pipeline - Canada gets the money, Asia gets the oil, America gets the toxic refinery pollution and potential for a pipeline leak ecological disaster.
