    but, fortunately, there are no deep wells under Bayou Corne community, and no one lives on top of the Napoleonville dome.

    OTOH, peoples water wells are in danger of methane contamination and the DNR is monitoring for methane beneath the Bayou Corne houses for the same reason. Several relief wells have been drilled to vent and flare the leaked methane, but it could take a while for it to all be produced.

      Speaking as someone who lives in one of the loveliest areas of countryside imaginable, countryside where the British government has earmarked for coal bed methane production, I am damned tired of geologists who maybe sorta think they know what is under their feet, and make concrete pronouncements on that basis.
