    yesterday I phoned my Dad to ask him if he wanted my ketchup, because I've stopped using it, and still had a mostly full bottle, and didn't want it just being wasted.  I've switched almost entirely to seasoning with dried pepper, garlic, oregano and the like, things I can grow at home.  I like the flavours more anyway, and I don't have all the extra sugars.

      especially hot dogs. Heinz has a Simply Heinz brand that uses actual cane sugar rather than HFCS, and it's not like you're eating it a quart at a time.

        I think it's the organic 5 ingredient recipe or somesuch.  But I've actually been using a German (Hela Schaschlik(Pikant) Gewurz) Ketchup more often than not anyway when I've used ketchup lately, which hasn't been often.  I've been finding it cheaper lately to get higher quality protein in bulk chicken breast packs than processed things like hotdogs, and it's simpler just to sprinkle the chopped up medallions with a mix of dried spices.  And the few times I've had hamburgers, I've gone with home made relish or pepper jam instead.  I'd like to be able to make my own ketchup as well, but I seem to suck at growing tomatoes.
