  •  my wife is devastated, there's a poor alternative (4+ / 0-)

My wife was denied coverage by the Aetna Death Panel this week, making her eligible for PCIP.  Yesterday I went to apply for PCIP and saw that the program has been closed for new applicants.  She missed by a day.  WTF?

The only alternative is for her to sign up for a group policy through my company - that plan will not cover her preexisting conditions for 12 to 18 months, depending on policy details that haven't been settled yet.

How long has she been without coverage? If she's had it fairly recently, she should be able to get on your employer's coverage without the hold.

My thoughts and good wishes go out to you. That could easily have been me; in fact, at one point, it was. Please keep me posted as to how she's doing and what happens.

Organ donors save lives! A donor's kidney gave me my life back on 02/18/11; he lives on in me. Please talk with your family about your wish to donate.

Why are war casualty counts "American troops" and "others" but never "human beings"?
