  •  Mary Jo White's confirmation hearings for SEC! (10+ / 0-)

Elizabeth Warren appears to be the real deal. I think the confirmation hearing for Mary Jo White to head the SEC will be a great opportunity for her. I'm really excited about the prospects of Warren grilling White over the revolving door issue, as well trying to get a feel for how aggressive White will be as head of the agency that has been a persistent failure.

I'd like to see her questioned about her statement that aggressiveness in bringing cases could be a positive up to a "certain point. I'd love to see Warren ask where she thinks that point is. Warren should also ask her about her role in an investigation into John Mack and the firing of SEC investigator Gary Aguirre, which ended up costing taxpayers some money for wrongful termination.

Also, does White think the possibility that innocent bank/financial firm employees could be affected by indictments of executives should be factor in bringing charges like Lanny Breuer does? If so, did those same concerns exist for innocent employees of front companies used by the mafia during her prosecution of John Gotti?

I thin k Warren could put a serious dent in the nomination of White and her level of aggressiveness during the confirmation process should be illuminating.
