    Neal Degrasse Tyson referenced an airburst between India and Pakistan in the nineties to say that these things happen every decade.

    Other sources say, every fifty years.

    Could this be due to lack of agreement as to what is a "similar" event? In terms of energy released, this meteor seems to be an order of magnitude larger than anything since Tunguska.

    Would the infrasound stations installed as part of the Test Ban Treaty detect an airblast anywhere in the world or are they all concentrated in the northern hemisphere? Are there records publicly available?
