  •  That's pretty arbitrary: (0+ / 0-)
There are only two sacrosanct figures in American life: Jesus and the handgun.
The printing press? The Internet? My daughter? Some peoples' pets? Chocolate?
    •  We can legislate against (0+ / 0-)

the printing press (the Tea Party in Texas channels textbooks), the Internet (look at all of the gatekeeper bills) and chocolate (we'll go after fat well before bullets).  Hopefully your daughter and the pets are nice enough that they require no legislation...

      •  What does legislation have to do with (0+ / 0-)

'sacrosanct'? Both Jesus and guns have been legislated against to control their influence.

(though, ironically, it's probably okay if I pray in school that my gun still works, but it's not okay if I pray for Jesus to protect me.)
