  •  lol....I cleaned like a mad woman when... (3+ / 0-)

my oldest son graduated from college and my family slid into town for a night before the ceremony in Asheville.  Like you, I do weekly surface cleaning/vacuum dog hair but this time I made a schedule and cleaned room by room, top to bottom including re-arranging pictures and furniture....basically I went nuts.  :) It was very hard for me to stick to a plan as I am easily distracted but when I finished, it was really nice to have a shiny home. That was TWO years ago and now I am about to undergo the same ordeal as younger son's graduation approaches.  Wheeeee! Enjoy your friend's visit and your newly cleaned and sparkly home, {{{Audri}}}....how nice to re-connect after 25 years!

But now as Son's graduation and commissioning date are approaching, knowing we'll have 8 adults and 7 children staying here, I'm not sure it's worth the effort! It'll be pretty well trashed over a 3 day period, and then they'll all go home.

All the cleaning, then the arrival of family, laundry and luggage, food...general chaos ensues and any evidence of cleaning evaporates...then, poof!...they're gone. What we do for love!  :)
