  •  Lori was a true maverick (0+ / 0-)

She never once thought about any electoral strategy like what I described above, as she saw herself as an ordinary citizen from Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin who was ticked off at her state senator for disregarding Wisconsin's Open Meetings Law while ramming Act 10 through the legislature and decided to get a recall petition on him.

By the way, if you're wondering what she's up to nowadays, she's now the only lobbyist that I know that holds "No RSVP Required" events in various drinking establishments. She's truly someone who does things her way and on her own terms.

The only way I could see her return to the campaign trail is if there's an Ed Garvey-type scenario in which Wisconsin Democrats can't find a current or former elected official to run against an incumbent Republican Governor or U.S. Senator. She's probably the "last resort" Democratic candidate for a future WI-Gov or WI-Sen race, and, hopefully, she won't be needed to save Wisconsin Democrats from the embarrassment of having a Republican Governor or U.S. Senator being completely unopposed.
