  •  I'm wondering how much more COULD have been (11+ / 0-)

added were it not for Greatly prolonged commercial interruption. A general critique of all retail TV, i know, but if they're doing a "Special", why not extend 30 minutes. It's all looped ad nauseum anyway.

As far as not much media mea culpa, neither GE nor ComCast are that honest and the talking heads are still playing catch-up on credibility (playing poorly IMHO).

It was gratifying to see more emphasis on Feith, the primary "cherry picker", but disappointing not to have even a mention of his mentor Pearle who was doing 24/7 at the "drunk tanks" and Sunday shows.

Thanks for the Moyer's link (makes life easier for us ole' farts).

    •  It was not difficult to know the truth (16+ / 0-)

Pay attention to the people who knew, who had been involved in investigating the possibility of WMD in Iraq such as Hans Blix and Scott Ritter.

Don't expect to see the truth from the establishment media. They exist to serve their masters. Ignore them.

Does anyone recall the Downing Street memos. "The facts are being fixed around the policy".

Does anyone recall that one of the first issues important to Junior Bush was "finding a way to do Iraq" and that the best pretext they could come up with was WMDs.

Is anyone aware of the fact that we did two regime changes in Iraq during the 1960's. Why? There were fears that they would nationalize their oil.

I would have bet my life on the fact that there were no WMDs. It was not difficult to know.

Later on, when Ron Suskind's book The Way of the World was published we learned for certain that Bush himself knew and when he was told, this was by way of one Mr. Habbush, Saddam's Intelligence Chief, through British Intelligence, G W's reply was "f*ck it, we're goin' in.

Also we know now that Iraq was number one on the neocon hit-list - the 7 countries in 5 years list which had its origins back in the mid to late -1990's.

This is from History Commons - November 12, 1997: Neoconservative Advocates Backing INC in Overthrowing Hussein

David Wurmser, director of the Middle East program at the neoconservative American Enterprise Institute, writes an op-ed piece in the Wall Street Journal arguing that the US government should support Ahmed Chalabi’s Iraqi National Congress [INC] and work to foment “an Iraqi insurgency to depose the butcher of Baghdad.” Wurmser writes: “Washington has no choice now but to abandon the coup option and resurrect the INC. An insurgency may be able to defeat Saddam’s weak and demoralized conventional army.
