Every modern case in which a person was filming an on-duty police officer, and the officer was either informed or knew of the filming, or was interacting with the person doing the filming, has been settled in favor of the person filming, either in state or federal court.

This was despite the crooked attempt in Illinois to specifically criminalize filming police after a previous statute was construed far more narrowly. The federal courts have struck down arrests under this law, but that doesn't mean the cops still won't arrest you for purposes of harassment, just that you will be able to get off in court.
