  •  Yeah, it was something.. (21+ / 0-)

it just could have been so much better and more devastating.

    •  "stovepipe" (7+ / 0-)

    •  This documentary was geared for a universal.. (5+ / 0-)

audience of all political persuasion imo

it just could have been so much better and more devastating.
Agreed, but imagine the average viewers.. attention span coupled with average political activism/knowledge.
For an hour long program it made the point without instantly turning off a majority of the country that was tricked into beliving we were pursuing those responsible for 9/11 at the time, didn't know (and to this day are unaware of) that attacking Iraq was a complete hoax and could very well have tuned out feeling like the crticism was aimed at themselves.

Cliff notes might be a little harsh. This could open the door to people wanting more on this.

That's how I saw it . An introduction or synopsis of the larger be continued.

that anyone that supported the war and mindlessly accepted what Bush and Cheney sold, may have some guilt about it.  If you throw too much at an individual that could be ridden with guilt when the truth hits them, they may protect themselves by shutting down and not listening, attacking the messenger.

I remember, as I was beginning my evolution from Christianity to atheism, having feelings of "oh how could you have been so naive?",  "Damn, my entire family as far as the eye can see is complicit on this too.  Are they all so easily fooled as well?".  Those feelings were overwhelming and I had to ease into things, find justifications for the brainwashing and culture of me and my family.

The fact that we're here on this site means for the most part we question and most of us have known this stuff a long time.  The vast majority of Americans do not.  They have to be led slowly, a step at a time.

So lets keep pushing for more documentaries instead of arguing about whether this one went far enough.

Write and email MSNBC and push them to do another, more thorough documentary on the topic.  And don't be shy if it means showing some members of our own party were not as strong in fighting the Iraq War as they should have been.  Face the fact that it may make our current administration look problematic for some of the same policies they've adopted from Bush Cheney.

Democratic Leaders must be very clear they stand with the working class of our country. Democrats must hold the line in demanding that deficit reduction is done fairly -- not on the backs of the elderly, the sick, children and the poor.
