The guy with the baton should be in jail.  My Dad was a cop, and he would have been horrified to see that.

Many hands make light work, but light hearts make heavy work the lightest of all.

      Somehow the cops never do.

      •  He would have kicked the ass of the guy with the (0+ / 0-)

baton, right then and there.  Dad was a small town cop, and he knew everyone in town, and he would never have stood by and watched a beating like that.

Those other cops should be ashamed of themselves.

Lesson to be learned (which I learned the hard way).  If a cop tells you to move, you have three choices:

        1.  Move.
        2.  Refuse to move and ask to be arrested, presenting your wrists to be manacled.
        3.  Refuse and resist, and get the old wooden shampoo.

Frankly, I almost always choose #1, but I have been cuffed and taken to the paddy wagon under scenario #2.   They can't give you a beat down if you go peacefully.  At least they shouldn't.

Last, with respect to the "Blue Wall of Silence" - it's not as hard and tight as it used to be.   Many cops will report another bad cop to their superiors if they feel that there is a bad seed in their midst.
