    •  well, from your article you linked, which I (0+ / 0-)

actually read, this guy Carrol donated 2300 in 08 but no mention of 12, and a total of 5K plus change since 07 if I'm remembering correctly.

That's not a lot of money, and he maybe hasn't contributed anything to Obama in more than 4 years. Anything Obama does has to pretty much be done with industry, the legislature is helpless.

And the XL was a done deal about a year or more ago, don't know where DK has been but it was obvious to me. It's like deciding to buy from Venezuela instead of Nigeria, or shutting down the N slope because it gets sold to Japan. No wonder we've been losing on environmental issues of late.

How big is your personal carbon footprint?

Please do read my reply to the OP, btw. You will be enlightened......

And, btw, we've been losing on environmental issues, not because of supposed denial or anything, but frankly, part of the problem is that we've been too lenient in allowing extreme pessimism and even the occasional fearmongering(unintentional or otherwise) to go mostly unchecked; how in the hell are people going to wake up when you've got people saying that Keystone XL will throw us into "Venus Syndrome"(thank Jim Hansen for that one), or that we're at risk of extinction or that civilization will inevitably collapse? None of these things are true, of course, but too many people on our side still buy into this and not enough fact-checking is being done.

I realize this will not be popular with some but it is indeed part of the truth of the matter.
