    Schweitzer is more liberal and more electable than Baucus? I'm in.

    And look, I understand that red state Democrats need to moderate a, but Baucus has moved way farther to the right than necessary. According to his DW-NOMINATE score, he was the 51st most liberal member of the 111th Senate, which puts him in the company of the the Lieberman's and Landrieu's of the world. And that doesn't even take into account Baucus taking a machete to health care reform.

    By contrast, Senator Tester has been able to maintain the 42nd most liberal voting record in the 111th senate, which is actually slightly to the left of Dianne Feinstein. Clearly, Montana is fine with a left-of-center senator -- hell, according to the sparse polling data, they seem to like the relatively more liberal Tester more than Baucus.
