    I agree that the corporate welfare is a scandal.

    A lot of it goes to the MIC.

      jobs. The MIC does employ a lot of contractors, engineers, techs, mechanics, and many are prior military. They do this on purpose so that employers can provide fewer benefits because they hire retirees and vets who already have them.

      This happens also because the MIC understands what military records equate to in terms of education and skill. That isn't always an easy or possible transition to a regular civilian job.

      So indiscriminately cutting MIC jobs could create a very large unemployed population.

      Now that doesn't mean I am happy about the privatization of everything in our military and other government agencies. But it is good to remember that some jobs in the MIC are necessary.
