    to decide, not the government's role, imo.

    Just because the government says something is "illegal" does not translate to me believing it's also immoral.

    Prime example, the war on drugs.

    While I do not use any, do I really care if my neighbor does? Nope, as long as they don't do drugs then break into my home, then we have a problem.

    But the point that breaking into another's home is illegal isn't because it's "immoral", it's basic freedom.  Your rights end where mine begin and vice-versa. When you violate my rights, I must have recourse in a civil society.

    That recourse would be having you arrested for breaking and entering, something I did not grant you permission to do.

    We see it with stealing cars.  If I break into your car and hot-wire it, that's grand theft.  If I open the door and the keys are left in there, it's "unauthorized use".  

    So, when I don't lock my doors or windows it wouldn't be "breaking and entering", it would be simple trespassing.

    Huge differences.
