      I have problems with that adaptation, but Gene Wilder's performance is decidedly not one of them.

      (Still haven't seen the other one.)

      •  Totally agree...I read that book so many times it (0+ / 0-)

        was falling apart and I tend to get a little peeved when movie scripts stray from important parts of the story line (The Shining is the WORST adaptation EVER) but Gene Wilder made it bearable.  I haven't seen the new version either....

        (OT-And even Jack Nickolson couldn't save The Shining....I saw it in the theater in the early 80's in Georgetown and the entire audience was standing up and throwing anything they could get their hands on at the screen at the end...I've never seen anything like it before or since...LOL)
