    that this argument... while tough to hear, often rings true to me. Given our last 50 years of history, anyone who signed up for the U.S. Army after 1970... well, that's a little suspect in my opinion.

    No disrespect to military people. Evidently there's something out there about "serving your country" that I evidently just "dont' get." I mean, if you know odds are, you're just going to end up murdering a bunch of people for some stupid Right Wing b.s. agenda... why sign up? I'm really not that afraid of being attacked. Most countries don't have anything even approaching anything that approaches approaching our weaponry firepower/technology. It's absurd how many Oreo Cookies Ben stacks up every year for the military!

      I enlisted in 1976 at the age of 17, I simply believed my country would never do wrong by me.

      What did I know? There were no Internets back then. Hell I was just barely old enough to see the movies you list! But they hadn't been made yet...
