    otherwise why would the recruiters spend so much time talking to them, visiting them in their homes?

    There's always the guilt. The "I didn't spend 48 hours in labor and THEN do all that hard work raising you, making sacrifices, etc. etc. for you to be cannon fodder in that evil man's war." That sort of thing.

    I wouldn't lock my son in the basement. But I would--as I've stated before--bop him on the head, shove him in the trunk of the car, and drive hell-for-leather to Canada.
