    I'm inclined to agree that Bloomberg's numbers might be high, but I don't think they're anywhere near as low as the skeptic claims they are.

    We know this is happening, and we know it's happening in a big way. We know that the banks are cutting every possible corner and charging as many fees as possible to stay afloat.

    I also have heard and read so much about BofA and Citi being in deep, deep, deep trouble even today, that I'm inclined to believe that they're not actually making a profit.

    The Bloomberg editorial fits best with the information I have from other trustworthy sources.

    I'm going to do some digging to try and figure out which story is more likely. But I'm starting to believe we won't know which author is right until we get a look at the books of these banks, something that I don't think is going to happen.
