    shall we?

As far as I'm concerned, Panetta is a MIC goon and a creep.  The fact that he's a Democrat at all really makes matters worse, as far as I'm concerned.  Or am I supposed to worship at the thigh altar of everyone with a D after his name?

Oh, yes, I would've been disappointed with Lincoln.  Remember his summary abrogations of parts of the Constitution?  You don't?  Then while you're at it, point out to me the clause in the Constitution that forbids secession from the Union but allows secession from a state.

(Not that I don't despise all slaveowners, Saint Thomas Jefferson pointedly included, mind you.)

on so many levels -- like every single sentence.  Looks like you would only be satisfied with the vilification of Lincoln and a what?  Greenie as Sec. Def?

    •  Secession From A State Is Expressly Permitted (0+ / 0-)

It requires the approval of the state legislature, and I can't really fault the federal government for regarding the loyal state legislature in Wheeling rather than the pack of traitors in Richmond as the legitimate state legislature.

That said, there are plenty of criticisms of Lincoln's treatment of the Constitution that actually do hold water.

On the Internet, nobody knows if you're a dog... but everybody knows if you're a jackass.
