  •  You may very well be right about Cruz (5+ / 0-)

but I think everyone should take a look at this post by Josh Marshall today.  Paul I believe is legitimately crazy.  Cruz, however, may actually be dangerous.

I think his real danger isn't that we'd lose a Presidential election to him, but rather that guys like him (and the Tea Partiers that support him) won't let the Republican Party moderate.   And it's really hurting our democracy that one of the two major parties is psychotic.

    •  I, too, believe he is truly dangerous. (0+ / 0-)

He knows and understands the art of the smear question, is highly educated, dishonest, no qualms about it, ambitious, and fervent in his tea bag beliefs.

He dismantled the very wealthy establishment conservative Ted Dewhurst to everyone's amazement and won the very hard fought primary to become Texas' Most Tea Bag Senator.

      He is dangerous.

if he thinks going deep Teabagger is going to get him very far  with the way this country's demographics are shifting. First of all, he's the "wrong kind" of Latino (Cuban). Latino voters aren't going to vote for someone with anti-immigrant positions just because he's Cuban.

With the Texas Battleground project, Cruz won't even be able to get himself re-elected Senator in six years. He's hitched his wagon to the wrong star.
