      (sounds like a rock group), it is nowhere as evident as during WWII and Capra's many efforts.  Bit offthread but Doc Channel has "The Negro Soldier" where Capra details the contributions of African Americans to WWII Allies war effort

      I highly recommend watching this and listening intently to the whole conversation.  Guests are Oliver Stone, Michael Moore, and Chris Hedges, and Marwan Bishara is the host who asks insightful questions.

        Bishara had a short clip of Ike's MIC comment early on. Later when he was asking the three guests why we need  the military when we can impress so many around the world with the movies, it was like the MIC was too obvious to bring up again. I kept thinking, he really doesn't get that piece, they need to bring it home again.
