We Kansans who are now out-of-state greatly appreciate your work.

Let's hope that this marks the year of tea bag overreach and the state recoils back.  (but I'm not holding my breath -- I fear it could get even worse)

    •  Maybe, there is a lot of downbeat (0+ / 0-)

Thought about Kansas.   But as was pointed out at this event, almost 30% of the student body in Wichita School district is hispanic.  The rising population in Kansas is democratic.   The old guard definitely has the polls locked up, but the youth have had nothing to vote FOR.

The question is whether or not they can be presented a case that makes them vote in favor of a candidate, to engender some real excitement.

Voter turnout in Kansas has been fairly depressed in large part because people think the elections are over before they begin.   Whether that's true or not, the strategy of running no-one (two house races went unopposed) is clearly not working.  You can never win.. or even get the other guy on the record without it.

This week you had a town hall meeting go sideways.  If you get them into an election mode where they have to go on the record, even if they win Kansas, the dumb things that get said will hurt other republicans around the country.

And that along is worth the money spent.
