    •  how painful that day must have been for them. (8+ / 0-)

The first year 'anniversaries' after you've lost a loved one are so hard.

I look at the pictures and all I see is a beautiful young man, barely more than a child, and remember my son at that age, and my heart breaks.   No more, no more dear God.

Remembering Trayvon & praying for justice.

      •  I was thinking exactly the same thing. The first (0+ / 0-)

anniversaries are so hard.  There are no words for it.  BUt I've never had to go through that kind of grieving for a child.

Justice can never be more than a truncated thing, where murder is concerned.

Yet so important.  Remember Trayvon and pray for justice, yes.

    •  It still is his birthday (0+ / 0-)

I'm guessing still a deeply meaningful day for his mother...I'm guessing that because it is my son's birthday, too, and I can only imagine in the sketchiest of terms what it would mean to me to face that day without my son on the planet.  It's a day I share with him.

Trayvon's parents, but especially his mother, are people I have an enormous amount of admiration for, given how they have handled this tragedy and their public actions about this crime and this case.
