and those of us watching the Arts programs facing big cuts because of teabagging governors slashing education funding to public schoos with a machete...I was glad to see her supporting the Arts.

The Oscars are hardly the epitome of "supporting the arts", IMO.  Movie making is big business.

In any event, the RW is going to have a field day.

what the right wing says.  They are whining crybaby losers and they complain about everything and everyday. No matter what this President or First Lady does, they whine and bitch so I do not care anymore.

Baggers are gonna whine..that is how it is.

        •  Agreed and their whining is usually (0+ / 0-)

about being crybaby losers.  They often remind me of a great-aunt I had--a person so cranky and bitter that every little detail needed her attention.

This is a personal opinion of mine about FLOTUS based in part on my disdain for the Oscars.  I think the production is tacky and the emotion contrived.  Jack Nicholson's intro to FLOTUS and his subsequent remarks appeared to be, if not disrespectful, disapproving.

FLOTUS has so much going for her in the second term and support of the arts is important...there's no reason to subvert her influence by a questionable appearance as a "presenter" at the Oscars.
