husband currently makes time and a half for overtime but only gets one week paid vacation every year, until the time he retires.  It never goes up and there are no sick days.  So if he gets sick or needs a day off, it comes out of this same week.  So basically if we get to go on vacation, and he has been sick a day or two in the year....not only do we have to save up for the trip but we have to also save up to take a vacation with only half a week paid.  Not only that, but he wouldn't mind having more than a week a year to just sit at home and rest.

In our situation, we would probably take the option of comp time, as my husband would love 2 or 3 weeks a year to have off.

Mind you it would have to be an optional type of thing and we should be able to use it within a year.
